National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Science Education Consortium

IITTL/UNT and dozens of science education and technology partners nationwide are working with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center on a five-year mission to encourage interest in space science — the NASA Space Science Education Consortium, NSSEC. The UNT team works with Goddard’s STEM Innovation Lab to implement content and innovative technologies with students. This project will leverage key technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 2D and 3D design and model creation, robotics, drones and online simulations to provide students with opportunities to engage in learning and discovery. The STEM innovation activities, which also include the exploration of space weather, Mars, the moon, and heliophysics (such as the solar eclipses and missions to the sun), are intended to provide unique experiences that foster curiosity and promote engaged learning.
