The University of Virginia received $300,000 grant from the Governor of Virginia to partner with local schools for the first lab school in the U.S. Its mission is to teach advanced manufacturing technology. |

Preservice teachers visited the Discovery Park Fab Lab. They were challenged to use digital fabrication to create a container that would hold the most tootsie rolls when lifted by a windmill. The winning team's container held 82 tootsie rolls. Click to Watch Video. |

Fab @ School's new home is now located in Discovery Park in the engineering building. IITTL, housed in the Department of Learning Technologies, received a 3-D Printer. |
