What is the potential of IT to improve K-12 education?How can the implementation of IT in K-12 educational practice be supported?
The International Handbook series spawned 10 years of bi-annual EDUSummITs where researchers, practitioners, and scholars from around the world meet for three days to discuss urgent problems facing education systems around the world, with prospective technology-based solutions , and to advocate "Call to Action" fast-track solutions. EDUSummITs have been held in the Netherlands 2009), Paris (2011), Washington D.C. (2013), Bangkok (2015), Bulgaria (2017), and Canada (2019).
The International Summit on Information and Communication Technologies in Education
(EDUSummIT) 2023 is hosted by Kyoto University in Japan, and specifically by the LEAF
Project led by Dr. Hiroaki Ogata. A core group of 5 faculty from the Kyoto University
LEAF Project delivered a panel presentation in person from the Learning Technologies
Agora as part of the College of Information Discovery Series, while simultaneously
broadcasting via zoom. More than 50 UNT faculty and researchers attended.
